What should be in a lunch bag?

The contents of a lunch bag can vary depending on personal preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional need.

Choose your favorite fillings such as turkey, chicken, ham, cheese, tuna, egg salad, or vegetables.

Fill with grilled chicken, beans, vegetables, rice, or other ingredients.

Pack a salad with mixed greens, vegetables, protein (such as grilled chicken, tofu, or beans), and a vinaigrette dressing on the side.Apples, bananas, grapes, berries, oranges, or any other seasonal fruit. Carrot sticks, celery, bell pepper slices, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, or snap peas.

Almonds, walnuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds.Stay hydrated with a reusable water bottle filled with water.

Opt for 100% fruit juice or dilute with water to reduce sugar content. Pack a small carton of milk or a non-dairy alternative like almond milk or soy milk.

Choose bars with whole grains, nuts, and minimal added sugars. Make your own with a mix of nuts, dried fruit, and a small amount of chocolate chips. A small piece of dark chocolate can satisfy a sweet craving. Pack ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, or salad dressing separately to avoid making sandwiches or salads soggy. Include a reusable fork, spoon, and/or knife if needed.Handy for cleaning up spills or wiping hands.Keep perishable items cool and safe to eat.

Remember to consider any food allergies or dietary restrictions when packing a lunch bag, and aim for a balance of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals to provide sustained energy throughout the day.
